Obedience and Joy

On August 19, 2011 By

Obedience.  Jesus Christ will always be the gold standard.  No one in history comes close to comparing with his life example.  His submission to the unbelievable scandal of what was commanded of him went far beyond external conformity.  He embraced it, he owned it, and in the end he even took joy in it.  He [...]

Haiti and the poor

On August 5, 2011 By

As some of you know we have made a commitment, as a church, to support a Haitian congregation committed to reach children who have been orphaned in the aftermath of the earthquake that totally leveled that poverty stricken nation.  We are sending a small team  (which I have been given the opportunity to be a [...]

And the King will answer them,’Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’  (Matt 25:40) What do you give to a king?  What could you possibly give to one who has everything, can do anything and needs absolutely nothing?  There is nothing [...]

I was reading a journal entry that I wrote almost a year ago.  In light of what we are seeing unfold in Japan I felt compelled to share it. “We are all ruined if we do not believe the gospel.  All of our heartaches and hurts, our disappointments and our troubles can call be attributed [...]

It was an incredibly encouraging and enlightening time as we were given a peek into the inner workings of the movement of God at Perimeter over the years. I know that many of us at Harvest were praying for the group and so I just wanted to thank you all for faithfully interceding for us. God truly answered your prayers. We learned so much while we were down there.

My favorite passage in all the scriptures (I know that is something ministers seem to say all the time to emphasize the importance of a point, but really it is) is Romans 8:28. “For we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his [...]

Waiting on the Lord

On August 27, 2010 By

Waiting is one of the most frustrating things in life. Sometimes it seems like life is just one big waiting room. Think about it. I bet you are waiting for something or someone right now. It may be that e-mail response from someone, or it may be NFL kick-off Sunday, or it may be an [...]

Have you ever wondered why the Bible is so saturated with names? I’m sure it has crossed your mind. Especially if you’ve made an effort to read through the Bible systematically. You’re chugging right along building momentum and then wham suddenly you’re hit with all these names and your reading comes to a screeching halt. [...]
