About the Pastor
Pastor Walter grew up in Chicago. He went to Moody Bible Institute for undergrad studies and Trinity Evangelical Divinity school where he received his Master’s of Divinity degree. He is married to Susan and they have a beautiful daughter Kristen and twin boys Sean and Iain. Pastor Walter was ordained in the PCA in 1999 and came to the East Coast to serve as English Ministry pastor of Bethel Presbyterian Church in 2005. In 2010 Pastor Walter and Susan started sensing a burden and need for a new church in the Howard County; one that would serve to reach people who were otherwise not being reached by existing churches. Having served in a Korean American church context for nearly 20 years Pastor Walter was convinced the Lord was leading him to start a new ministry that would be committed to diversity, making a difference in reaching the local community with the gospel, making a difference to meet the needs of the poor and powerless, and growing mature outward facing disciples of Christ. In the summer of 2010 Pastor Walter and his family along with a handful of Christians started meeting and praying about this vision. With the financial support of Bethel Church and the commission of the Korean Capital Presbytery, Harvest Presbyterian was born.
